About Me

‘Allo ‘Allo!

If you’re here hoping to finding some interesting personal information about me, I’m sorry to disappoint. None of it will be interesting.

My name is Sofia Santos, but you already knew that. I was born in Portugal but currently live in the UK.

I am a Senior OSINT Investigator and the Technical Lead on one of Centre for Information Resilience (CIR)’s projects. My team and I monitor, analyse, and investigate human rights violations, armed conflict, and terrorist activity within a specific area of the globe. I particularly enjoy analysing the strategies, operations, and impact of Violent Non-State Actors, with a special focus on guerrilla warfare.

If you’re curious about my OSINT journey or how to break this (very addictive!) field of work, check out my feature in CIR’s “A day in the life of an investigator: Inside the world of open source at CIR“, or my Bellingcat Stage Talk, “Getting Started In Open Source Research with Sofia Santos“.

When I’m not working, I’m writing blog entries, planning OSINT exercises, or recording videos. Sometimes I even leave my house!

You can find me on YouTube, LinkedIn, Mastodon, BlueSky, and occasionally on a few Discord channels under the gralhix username.

Thank you for stopping by.

~Sofia.
