List of OSINT Exercises – Challenge Yourself!

These OSINT exercises, also referred to as challenges, focus on three essential skills crucial for becoming an excellent OSINT analyst: how to find data, how to verify data, and how to analyse data. They provide an opportunity for you to practise your skills, explore new methods and techniques, and above all, have a lot of fun! All for free.

Within each exercise page in the list below you will find a task briefing and a set of questions for you to practise your skills. The difficulty levels range from easy to hard, catering for both beginners (🥸) and OSINT experts (🕵️). Each exercise page contains a link to a YouTube video where I provide the solution and a comprehensive walkthrough, guiding you from the task briefing to the answers.
At no point you will ever need to contact anyone or obtain personal information from online users. Please refrain from harassing or stalking people!

Absolutely! Feel free to share these exercises with your community, students, or friends, but please don’t take credit for them. I invest numerous hours in creating and developing each of these exercises, and they are all available for free. My only request is that people credit me when sharing them online.

If you have successfully completed all the tasks in an exercise page, consider writing your own walkthrough detailing the process, and share it with me. I thoroughly enjoy reading them and will gladly add a link to your write-up or video on the respective exercise page. You can find the current list of people’s walkthroughs on each exercise page. Given that often are multiple ways to approach the same tasks, reading through others’ processes can be equally insightful and helpful.

Predicting the release frequency of these exercises is a bit tricky. It really depends on how busy I am, the complexity of the exercise, and the number of tasks in a page. Typically, creating each exercise, including recording and editing the walkthrough, takes me about three weeks. I really cannot make any promises on how often they will get released. In the first 12 months since creating this page, I released 22 exercises with a total of 44 tasks, averaging a new exercise approximately every 2.36 weeks.

I announce them on social media. You can find the links to my social media accounts on the “About Me” page. The walkthrough video is usually published on my YouTube channel within 24 hours of the exercise being released. Occasionally, I may wait longer, especially if the exercise is marked as “hard”, allowing people more time to try it before watching the solution.
